MOAA Donates $5000 to Veterans Council for COVID-19 Relief Fund

The Veterans Council of Indian River County (VCIRC), has received a generous $5,000 gift from the Indian River Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America toward the VCIRC COVID-19 Relief Fund.  With more than 3000 Indian River County veterans living at the poverty level or below, many still out of work, and the additional unemployment benefit ceasing at the end of July, the demand for the COVID-19 relief and support continues to grow in our community.  The Veterans Council’s COVID-19 Relief Fund assists Indian River County Veterans and their families with essential needs such as food insecurity and payment of essential bills to sustain their livelihood.

“The Veterans Council and our clients are so grateful for the generous support from MOAA” says Executive Director, Jim Romanek. “this support will directly impact the safety, security, quality of life, and the well-being of our veterans during this very stressful and uncertain time.”

If you are a Veteran or you know an Indian River County Veteran in need, please call the Veterans Council of Indian River (772) 410-5820.
